MNI BRIEF: Trump Says He'll Announce Fed Chair Pick Next Week

President Donald Trump said Thursday he anticipates he'll announce his pick for the next Federal Reserve Chair next week, again tying his pick to demands on the interest on the U.S. debt. 

"We're going to be announcing next week I think sometime, Scott [Bessent], Howard [Lutnick], and everybody, we're going to be announcing the head of the Fed, who that will be. And it will be a person that I think will do a good job. We are paying far too much in interest, the Fed rate is too high," Trump said in a White House cabinet meeting.
