Military To Hold Patrol Near Taiwan Strait, Directed At 'Certain Country'

Wires and social media carrying comments attributed to the Chinese military. States that China is set to hold a 'readiness patrol' in the vicinity of the Taiwan strait. Says that the patrol is directed at a 'certain country' that is 'sending the wrong signal' on the Taiwan issue.

• Comes as members of the European Parliament, the French Senate, and US Congress have all carried out trips to Taiwan. This breaks decades of more standoffish behaviour, where western lawmakers have been reluctant to travel to Taiwan for fear of offending Beijing.
