Statistics Norway has flagged an error in Monday's October inflation report. However, this affects the estimation of electricity prices, so CPI-ATE is unchanged at 3.4% Y/Y (vs 3.0% consensus and prior). As such, no impact NOK or Norges Bank outlook.
"Statistics Norway has revealed an error in the consumer price index (CPI) for October, which was published on 10 November. The impact on electricity prices as a result of the new Norgespris scheme has been calculated incorrectly, so that the growth in the CPI was too high. The correction means that price growth from October 2024 to October 2025 was 3.1 percent, and not 3.3 as published on 10 November. The overall picture of price growth, including the CPI-ATE, has not changed"
The stats office notes: "This is the first time we have included the Norgespris scheme in the CPI, and the method for measuring electricity prices had to be changed in a short time. This is where the error occurred, and it is isolated to the electricity prices in the CPI, says Espen Kristiansen, section manager at Statistics Norway."

Bund futures continue to appreciate. This week’s early gains have resulted in a breach of resistance at 129.44, the Sep 10 high and a key short-term resistance. The break strengthens a bullish condition and signals scope for a continuation higher with sights in 130.05 next, a Fibonacci retracement point. Gilts rally at the open, with Sino-U.S. trade tensions and the soft UK labour market report driving a parallel 4-5bp shift lower in yields across the curve.
Trend signals in Silver remain bullish. The metal has traded to a fresh cycle high today, however, price action is volatile and the metal is off its intraday high. Recent gains have resulted in a move above a major resistance area around the $49.00-$50.00 region. This marks a high point from Jan ‘80 and Apr ‘11 and $50.00 represents a key psychological level. A clear break of this zone strengthens a bull theme. Support to watch is $46.791, the 20-day EMA.
