The US is set to have a second, smaller refinery maintenance period peak in April, following the spring maintenance which peaked in February, according to IIR Energy, cited by Bloomberg.
- The second wave will take around 1m b/d of refining capacity in early April, impacting mainly the Midwest.
- Offline capacity should diminish to around 0.5m b/d in May.
- The February peak took around 1.5m b/d of refining capacity offline, mainly in PADD 3.
