OIL: Urals Discount to Dated Brent Holding Steady: Reuters

Discounts for Russian Urals oil cargoes loading in May to Dated Brent held steady even as Saudi Arabia cut its OPSs, sources told Reuters.
- Urals crude cargoes for May DES India are at discounts of $2.50/b-$3.0/b versus Brent, similar to April levels.
- Absolute prices for Urals on FOB basis in Russian ports has fallen to its lowest level since 2023 amid falling global prices.
- However, downside is being capped by thin Urals supply in April-May owing to higher-than-expected refinery runs.
- Russia’s seasonal refinery maintenance is typically in April and May. Maintenance leads to lower refinery runs and thus reduced domestic crude demand.
- Ukrainian drone attacks have caused unplanned outages in additional to planned maintenance.
