The House Rules Committee is set to reconvene at 13:00 ET 18:00 BST to consider three key measures that have been derailed by internal divisions within the GOP - a three-year FISA 702 extension, the Senate-passed budget resolution for immigration enforcement, and the farm bill. - Jake Sherman at Punchbowl News reports that the committee has added a new bill to its agenda, "to allow year-round sale of E15. The legislation would also give RFS credit relief to some small refineries. Almost certainly aimed at solving House Rs E15 issue in the Farm Bill. This is a bipartisan bill."
- A short time ago, Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) again told reporters that the ball is in the House's court over DHS funding, which the House has linked to the immigration enforcement reconciliation bill. He said, referring to the Senate-passed funding measure that strips out ICE and Border Patrol funding: “We did it not once, but twice. I came back and did it a second time and the administration made it very clear that they wanted and expected that hopefully to be picked up and passed by the House. Well, that was 27 days ago.”
- As a reminder, DHS funding, procured via two Trump executive orders, is expected to run out this week. Warrentless FISA spy powers expire on Thursday without Congressional action.
