JET FUEL: Nigeria’s Dangote Ships First Jet Fuel Cargo to Europe: Platts

May-30 16:11

Nigeria’s 650k b/d Dangote refinery has exported its first jet fuel cargo to Europe, according to Platts.

  • The 45k mt cargo is being transported by BP on the Doric Breeze and is part of a 120k mt tender offered at the end of May.
  • The first jet fuel cargo from Dangote demonstrates the potential reach of product exports from the new refinery.
  • Dangote has exported six jet fuel cargoes since April 8, with all previously heading to other WAF markets.
  • Sources told Platts that additional supplies from Nigeria will add further length to an already saturated market, which has closed the arbitrage with the Persian Gulf.
  • In its steady state, Dangote will yield 9% jet fuel, or 45k b/d at 80% utilisation.
