Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the armed forces are ready to expand their military operation in the Gaza Strip as opposition leaders Yair Lapid and Benny Gantz issued a joint statement pledging support for the IDF.
- The Times of Israel reported that Netanyahu told mayors of southern cities that Israel is ready "both to expand the current operation and inflict heavy blows on Gaza, now and in the future."
- Meanwhile, Israeli forces continue to exchange fire with Palestinian paramilitaries. According to Ynet, the IDF estimate the number of rockets and mortars fired by the Palestinians at ~350, with some 150 exploding in Gaza or falling into the sea.
