• President Donald Trump will meet Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney today for the first time since his election win. The press spray will be the most closely followed Oval Office event since Trump’s bust-up with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy
• Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent will be grilled on tariffs and the X date during testimony to Congress today on Trump’s FY2026 budget.
• Trump directed officials to begin the process of imposing a 100% tariff on films produced outside the US. The move could imperil trade talks with movie-making countries and escalate Trump's trade war into services.

There was also a muted reaction in gilts to the latest round of EU-U.S. trade headlines, although fresh weakness in U.S. e-mini futures seems to lend some background support to gilts. Futures remain in the range establish in the first 30 minutes of trade.
