China and the United States continue to maintain “close communication at various levels” through their economic and trade teams, Ministry of Commerce spokesperson He Yadong said on Thursday.
He's remarks were in response to reporters’ questions about recent remarks by U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who stated that a working-level meeting was held in Beijing last week to prepare for talks with Vice Premier He Lifeng, ahead of an anticipated leaders’ meeting in April.
