China's RatingDog manufacturing PMI, previously known as the Caixin manufacturing PMI, came in at 50.3 in January, up from December's 50.1, remaining in the expansionary zone above the 50 mark, the publisher said on Monday.

The production sub-index rose further as the new orders sub-index expanded for the eighth consecutive month. Notably, new export orders returned to expansion territory after a contraction in December, primarily buoyed by increased demand from Southeast Asia.

RatingDog PMI mainly tracks SME manufacturers. The official PMI released Saturday, which typically covers large state-owned companies, registered 49.3 in January, down from December's 50.1 reading.
