President Donald Trump on Wednesday said his pick to replace outgoing Federal Reserve Governor Adriana Kugler will likely be in a temporary position, adding that the announcement will come in coming days.
Asked whether the new Fed governor will be temporary, Trump said: "We're probably going to go with a temp and then a permanent." The "temp" is going to be named "over the next two, three days," Trump said, "and then we're going to go permanent."
Speaking in the Oval Office at the White House, Trump again repeated that NEC director Kevin Hassett and ex-Fed governor Kevin Warsh are leading candidates.
