The rate of increase in eurozone wage settlements edged higher in the first quarter of 2024, the European Central Bank said on Thursday.
Wage deals rose 4.69% in Q1, up from an increase of 4.45% in Q4, the latest survey showed.
Closely watched by the Governing Council, the data is unlikely to stop an ECB rate cut in June, but will add to arguments for pausing in July in order to take stock over the summer months. (See MNI SOURCES: Fed, Geopolitics, Feed ECB Caution Over Cuts)
