MNI BRIEF: BOJ Shimizu Promoted To Executive Director

The Bank of Japan said on Monday that Seiichi Shimizu, the director-general of the Monetary Affairs Department, has been promoted as one of the six executive directors.

Shimizu replaced Yasuhiro Yamada, whose four-year term ended on Sunday. He was the executive director in charge of the Financial System and Bank Examination Department and Currency Issue Department, and Public Relations Department.
