Guy Elster at Walla News tweets: "Israel army assesses in its annual intelligence report that Iran could be able to make a nuclear bomb within two years if it chooses this path."

  • Adds: "Israel army assesses in its annual intelligence report that Hezbollah would initiate limited escalation in 2021 for the first time since the war in 2006."
  • Report also states that "Iran is using Iraq and Yemen to respond to Israel and America without causing all-out war. [...] Confronting Iran may require responses that result in tension on the northern front, including days of fighting."
  • While some of these claims may be a touch alarmist - given the IDF will be seeking to ensure Israel is well prepared for any military action no matter how likely - they give an insight into the mindset of Israeli military leaders. If the IDF believes Iran is a minimum of two years away from possessing nuclear weapons it may provoke more immediate pre-emptive action to stop this occurring.
