EMISSIONS: EU Spot Carbon Permit Price at Discount to Futures Contract

The latest EU ETS CAP3 auction cleared higher at €79.75/ton CO2e, compared with €79.06/ton CO2e in the previous auction, while flipping to a discount to the futures contract according to EEX.
- The auction cleared at 0.07€/ton CO2e discount to the futures contract, compared with a 0.09€/ton CO2e premium in the previous auction.
- The cover ratio was at 1.52, compared with 1.69 in the previous auction and below the five-year minimum.
- There was a total of 28 bids with 25 successful bids.
- The mean price was at €80.06/t CO2e and the median price was at €79.75/t CO2e.
- EU ETS Dec25 allowances have erased earlier losses to trade higher on the day with support from EU gas prices.
- EUA DEC 25 up 0.8% at 81.78 EUR/MT
