EIA forecasts record US natural gas consumption in 2022

• The September STEO forecasts the US natural gas consumption to increase by 3.6Bcf/d during 2022 to average 86.6 Bcf/d.
• The increase is seen in all end-use sectors with the power sector up 4% to 32.1bcf.d.
• They expect natural gas consumption in the power sector to decrease during Q4 2022 and 2023 on increased renewables but see an increase in the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.
