The U.S. slammed Turkey for sentencing a prominent businessman and philanthropist Osman Kavala to life in prison for allegedly attempting to topple the government following yesterday’s court ruling.
US said it was “deeply troubled and disappointed” by the court’s decision to convict Kavala and again called for his release in line with European Court of Human Rights rulings. “We urge the government to cease politically motivated prosecutions and to respect the rights and freedoms of all Turkish citizens.” - bbg

The USD pare some of its overnight losses, with Equities ticking lower since the Govie cash open and going into the Equity cash open.
The Scandis, NOK and SEK are extending losses, while the EUR and the Pound are seeing offers re-emerging.
AUD, NZD, JPY and the CAD are still holding onto gains.
USDNOK target the December high at 9.1948, also the highest print since November 2020
