Speaking to Fox Business News, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, regarding the US' economic support for Argentin,a says that the "Argentine president needed a bridge to go into the election", and the US is "helping the Argentine people who want free markets". Says "no money has been spent, its from the exchange stabilisation fund that I can use unilaterally." Says the US gov't shutdown (which he blames on the Democrats) is the reason there has not been gov't support for US farmers at risk from Argentine imports.
