FREIGHT: ADNOC Rules Out Fast Red Sea Return

Jan-24 14:05

Adnoc Shipping rules out quick return to Red Sea despite the announcement from the Houthis that they will curb attacks on non-Israeli ships, Reuters reports

  • ADNOC Logistics & Services CEO Abdulkareem Al Masabi: "As we speak today, we cannot say it's almost completely gone, and it's a go ahead for all the fleet to go inside the Red Sea. As I said, there is a people side of it, so we cannot risk our people going there while there is maybe a fragile ceasefire now."
  • This follows Maersk’s comments earlier on Jan. 24 that it will continue to divert vessels away from the Gulf of Aden and red Sea towards the Cape of Good Hope until the safe passage through the area is secured ‘for the longer term’
