The ratings agency has downgraded Mexico's ratings outlook from stable to negative.
- It stated: "The outlook change is driven by our view of a weakening in the policymaking and institutional settings that risks undermining fiscal and economic outcomes".
- The current rating at Baa2, the second-lowest investment rating was maintained.
- Bloomberg noted in terms of other rating agencies: "Fitch Ratings assigns Mexico BBB-, the lowest level above junk, while S&P Global Ratings has it a notch higher. Both have stable outlooks." See this link.
