• Both Javid and Zahawi served as chancellors under Boris Johnson for a short time. Javid from 2019-2020 before a spat with former No10 chief Dominic Cummings saw him resign. Zahawi in the summer of this year after Rishi Sunak resigned.
• Javid and Zahawi both seen as moderates compared to Kwarteng with Truss on the libertarian wing of the party.
