- Ex-Prime Minister Andrej Babis' ANO party won regional elections held Friday and Saturday in a landslide, garnering 35.4% of the vote, taking first place in ten out of the 13 regions, and increasing its number of seats in regional councils by 114. In addition, ANO candidates advanced to the run-off in 19 constituencies and two others were elected in the first round. Most observers described the results as a wake-up call for the ruling coalition ahead of next year's parliamentary election.
- Pirate Party leader Ivan Bartos and all four of his deputies resigned, taking responsibility for the poor showing in the regional and senate elections. They will continue to serve in caretaker capacity until the election of their successors. Bartos is also Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Digitalisation and Regional Development, albeit he has received significant criticism for his efforts to digitalise the construction permit system.
- President Petr Pavel announced that he will tap Czech Banking Association Chief Economist Jakub Seidler to replace Tomas Holub as member of the CNB's Bank Board from December 1. Holub's current term will expire at the end of November and the official was not seeking second term. The decision had been leaked by Seznam Zpravy last week.
- The Finance Ministry will publish its monthly bond issuance schedule for October at 13:00BST/14:00CEST.
