BP Rotterdam workers on strike will not help to restart the refinery this week unless wage demands are met. The refinery was hit by a technical problem last week which the Dutch Union said was an uncontrolled steam outage. It is currently offline.

• BP said on Saturday it expects to have the refinery back on line “early” this week.
• The company had been carrying out planned work at the refinery since September.
