MNI BRIEF: PM Takaichi To Meet BOJ's Ueda On Monday

Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi will meet Kazuo Ueda, Governor of the Bank of Japan, on Monday to exchange views on the economy and financial markets, a local newspaper reported Saturday.

The bilateral meeting will be the first since November, before the BOJ raised the policy interest rate to 0.75% from 0.50% in December.

Ueda has maintained that the bank will raise the policy rate to adjust the degree of monetary easing if its economic activity and price forecasts are realised.
