China’s RatingDog Services PMI rose to 52.6 in April from 52.1 in March, the agency said Wednesday.

Business activity and new business growth both accelerated last month, RatingDog founder Yao Yu said, citing sub-index data.

Input cost inflation accelerated to its highest level of 2026, driven largely by higher oil and fuel prices, though overall cost pressure remained modest, Yao added.

Service providers continued to cut charges slightly to stay competitive, leaving the selling prices index in contraction territory for a second straight month, he added.

Shipping lag effects will amplify disruptions to China’s supply in April, pushing imports below March’s level, a Chinese oil industry advisor recently told MNI. (See MNI INTERVIEW: China Oil Imports To Recover)
