BTP: Spread To Bunds Narrower Since Syndication Announcement

Apr-15 12:55

BTP/Bund spread back from session highs since the syndication announcement, last ~2bp wider on the day around 118bp.

  • Perhaps some local speculation surrounding such announcement factored into this morning’s spread widening, with the lack of overall surprise in the details (we had flagged the potential for such an announcement in our weekly issuance documents) resulting in profit taking by short-term speculators.
