From the report: "Japan and the European Union (EU) are planning to launch a "2+2" economic meeting between foreign and economic ministers. They will consider joint public-private ventures to cut off dependence on China for procurement of important minerals such as rare earths. They will further deepen their relationship as partners".
"The agreement was recently reached at the working level between Japan and the EU, and was included in the draft outcome document to be released in conjunction with the summit on the 23rd. The two countries will form a "Competitive Alliance" and work together to develop supply chains for critical minerals."
