Welsh Renewable lobby RenewableUK Cymru is requesting the next UK government to speed up Wales's renewable transition, the lobby said, cited by Renews.biz.
- Wales must quadruple its wind capacity from onshore to offshore within the next decade to meet rising demand. But only a quarter of its energy mix is met with renewables.
- “We are not building enough renewable energy projects to meet our growing electricity demand,” Director at RenewableUK Cymru said.
- "We urge the next UK Government to establish a four nations taskforce, in collaboration with the Welsh Government and industry,” the director added.
- The next UK general election will take place on 4 July.
