Shell has resumed supply of crude from its Bonny export terminal to the Port Harcourt refinery, according to Zawya.

  • The dual-unit refinery is nearing a restart following a revamp and will initially begin with processing 60k b/d, before ramping up to the full 210k b/d later in 2024.
  • Shell delivered a total of 475k bbl to the refinery on Jan. 18.
  • NNPC had said that it planned to complete test runs at the facility by the end of January.
  • The re-start of Port Harcourt coincides with the start-up of the 650k b/d Dangote refinery, with the ambition for Nigeria to become a net exporter of oil products.
  • Once fully operational, the production will likely put pressure on demand for European gasoline imports, a key supplier to WAF.
