The PCK Schwedt oil refinery has reduced its operating rate after the loss of piped crude supply via the Druzhba pipeline from Russia, the German Energy Ministry said.
- The plant is operating at 50%-60% of capacity, a spokeswoman from Germany’s Energy Ministry said.
- Talks are still taking place on the supply of Kazakh crude to Schwedt. PCK has already booked space for Kazakh oil in the pipeline system running to Schwedt, according to the ministry.
- Kazakhstan’s KazTransOil has requested an additional 1.2mn t of Druzhba pipeline capacity for 2023 from Transneft which would enable the company to ship extra oil to Germany.
- Oil trial shipments between Kazakhstan and Germany are scheduled to take place in January.
