Adds that Russia has 'trustful relations' with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Such comments will garner notable focus from Western gov'ts, especially with EU leaders meeting with President Xi presently as part of the EU-China summit.
- Earlier on 7 Dec it was confirmed in Chinese customs data that Russia-China trade reached USD218bn in the first 11 months of 2023, hitting a target set for 2024. Reuters: "In 2019, China and Russia agreed to increase trade to $200 billion by 2024 from $107 billion in 2018.[...] For November alone, bilateral trade value surged to $21.5 billion, the highest since February 2022 when the Ukraine war began."
