Italy and Montenegro have inched closer to connecting their power networks, with the Italian MASE presenting the first proposal for an MOU between the two parties regarding “market coupling”, Italy’s Ministry of Energy said.

  • The Italy-Montenegro power line is expected to double the capacity between the two countries.
  • The doubling of capacity will be dependent, however, on the completion of the transmission network and the development of electricity markets in Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia–Herzegovina, the ministry added.
