The Italian trade association Assofond has called for a “Single European price for energy” amid the differences in power prices compared neighbouring EU power markers, it said.
- “The difference in cost between what we pay today for electricity compared to our French, Spanish and German competitors is now unsustainable,” President of Assofond Fabio Zanardi said.
- The difference in spreads will “have a strong impact on the competitiveness of energy-intensive companies such as foundries,” Zanardi Added.
- Italian PUN in July was at €112.32/MWh compared to Germany at €67.70/MWh, €72.31/MWh in Spain and €47.03/MWh in France, according to the firm.
