EQT plans to reverse some natural gas production curtailments in October and November as demand and prices increase, Reuters said.
- EQT, the largest driller in the US, curtailed output in 2024 after prices retreated to mutli-year lows.
- "Production curtailments will be a normal part of our strategy when prices are low," CEO Toby Rice told Reuters,
- "We're watching to see that come back in October and November... We will ease curtailments in October," he added.
- Rice noted that EQT curtailed about 1 bcf/d of production in the spring. Curtailments across the whole industry were around 2 bcf/d.
- Analysts expect EQT to boost output in late 2024 and 2025 to meet growing export demand from LNG terminals under construction.
