CHILE: Mexico Foreign Minister Continues Chile Visit, BCCh Surveys Due Next Week

- USDCLP fell another 0.78% yesterday to close at 936, amidst the recovery in risk sentiment and pick-up in copper prices. An additional 2% rally in copper today and improved risk backdrop may provide a further tailwind to the peso on the open. For USDCLP, key support has been defined at 929.78, the August 1 low.
- Today, Mexican Foreign Minister Alicia Bárcena continues her visit to Santiago to mark the 25th anniversary of the bilateral free-trade agreement with Chile.
- No macro data are due today, with the next releases of note being the latest central bank economist and traders surveys, due Monday and Tuesday next week. Following that, Q2 GDP data will be published on August 19.
