The 2.3mtpa Tortue LNG project located offshore Senegal and Mauritania looks to be receiving a first cool-down cargo indicating progress towards production start-up, according to ICIS.
- The British Sponsor vessel has been signalling GTA LNG Terminal, for the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim project since leaving US Corpus Christi with a cargo on 31 July.
- The project was initially scheduled to come online last year but had been delayed several times, partly due to pipeline construction issues.
- US Plaquemines also recently received a cool-down cargo, but the facilities will still take some time to build up to full output.
