Turkey says Tripoli backs their energy deal despite a court suspension this week. Libya's Government of National Unity (GNU) told Turkey "not to take seriously" the court ruling.

• A Libyan court on Monday suspended an energy exploration deal that the Tripoli government signed last year with Turkey.
• The GNU was installed in early 2021 through a U.N.-backed peace process and was initially supported by the eastern-based parliament.
• Libya's Government of National Unity (GNU) has rejected the court’s decision to suspend the agreement. Tripoli's appeals court has left room for the GNU to appeal the decision.
• The agreement between Libya and Turkey covered scope for oil and gas exploration and production in waters that Ankara and Tripoli have declared as their own, but which are also in part claimed by Egypt and Greece – fuelling disputes.
