Amichai Stein at Kan reports that the Israeli delegation to the talks in Doha regarding a potential ceasefire in Gaza is set to return home from Qatar after the conclusion of today's negotiations.

• The Israeli delegation returning home does not necessarily indicate an end to this round of talks.
• Indeed, during previous rounds in both Doha and Cairo, delegations have returned to their home countries to discuss the state of negotiations and receive instruction from their respective gov'ts/administrations.
• There is little sign of tangible progress in the talks since they got underway on 15 Aug. The Israeli delegation returning home will also allow mediators Qatar and Egypt to converse with Hamas representatives on the state of play, given that the group is not taking part in the talks directly.
