Iraq’s crude oil exports rose in May to 3.305mbpd, from 3.288mbpd, according to provisional Iraqi Oil Ministry data.
- Exports remain well below the February level of 3.74mbpd, the last full month before Turkey shut the northern export pipeline.
- Bloomberg vessel-tracking data saw Iraqi crude oil exports at 3.27mbpd in May, down from 3.32mbpd in April.
- Iraq and Turkey are still in talks to resume northern oil exports via the Turkish port of Ceyhan, Iraq’s Oil Minister said early this week. Iraq had hoped to receive an official response from Turkey’s Botas to resume flows once the general election in Turkey took place late-May.
