Indian state-controlled Gail is offering an LNG cargo swap tender for August loading, according to Argus.

  • The first leg sees a cargo loading Aug. 9 from the US’ 33m mtpa Sabine Pass in exchange for an Aug. 15-18 delivery to the 5m mtpa Dhamra terminal.
  • The tender will close July 4.
  • Spot demand in India is expected to fall as monsoon season begins in the country. The increased rains will boost hydropower generation and push down gas-fired power demand.
  • Lower temperatures should also lower cooling demand.
