A new Savanta poll for the Daily Telegraph has found the Scottish National party leadership race “too close to call” with Hamza Yusuf in the lead with 31%.
- The poll of SNP members shows Hamza Yusuf as the marginal with 31%, slightly ahead of Kate Forbes with 25%, and Ash Regan trailing with 11%.
- Telegraph: “Some had predicted that Ms. Forbes’ candidacy was doomed after the devout Christian became engulfed in rows over her personal views on issues such as gay marriage, abortion, and children born out of wedlock.”
- The poll comes ahead of a potentially critical week for the direction of the SNP with two TV debates and party hustings scheduled.
