Per the CFTC positioning update from Friday in the US, leveraged names were firm net buyers of the USD see the table below. GBP longs were the only positive net addition in the space. GBP is the only outright long position, along with NZD in the G10 space. MXN also has a very modest long for leveraged names.
- On the asset manager side, it was a similar story, albeit with slightly lower magnitudes. Asset managers added to JPY shorts, GBP shorts and trimmed EUR longs. AUD shorts were modestly trimmed. We saw a bigger shift in terms of trimming MXN shorts.
- This data is up to the 12th of Nov and obviously captures the post Trump election effect.
