Small extensions to Norway’s large Troll gas field and Kollsnes processing facility will further weigh on Norway’s pipeline gas supplies to Europe this week, Gassco remit data show.

  • Pipeline natural gas flows from Norway to Europe stood at 136.8mcm/d today, broadly in line with yesterday. Supplies are expected to fall further tomorrow, amid outage extensions curtailing capacity by 222.9mcm/d. Peak maintenance was previously scheduled to conclude as of Monday.
  • Works at the Troll field have been extended by two days until 10 Sept, curtailing output by 125mcm/d. Output will be curtailed by 60mcm/d on 10-11 September, by 45mcm/d on 11-12 September and by 6mcm/d, from previously 10mcm/d on 12 September until 5 October.
  • The Kollsnes processing plant extended works by one day until Friday, affecting 153mcm/d. Output cuts will fall to 83mcm/d on 8-9 Sept. Output will be curtailed by 11mcm/d on 9-20 Sept, and of 11mcm/d on 8-20 Sept.
  • The unplanned outage at Aasta Hansteen has been extended by two days until 9 Sept with limited output of 25.8mcm/d. Further works on 9-10 Sept will limit availability by 12.9mcm/d. The duration of the outage remains uncertain.
  • Ongoing works at the Oseberg field will last until 7 Sept, from 10 Sept previously scheduled, and will have curtail availability by 15.5mcm/d, before further rising to 25.5mcm/d on 7-8 Sept and 15.5mcm/d on 8-9 Sept.
  • Maintenance at the Ormen Lange field will start 9 Sept and limit output by 10.5mcm/d until 16 Sept.
  • The Karsto processing plant is scheduled to have annual maintenance until 17 Sept, affecting 12.6mcm/d.
  • Smaller works at the Kvitebjorn and Visund fields will end on 19 Sept and 8 Sept. Works at Dvalin have been extened until 9 Sept.
  • In the UK, the St. Fergus gas terminal will have curtailed capacity of 26.8mcm/d until Thursday before rising to 30.8mcm/d until 29 Sept. The Barrow North Terminal will return on Friday.
  • There are currently no flows on the BBL pipeline since today until 11 Sept.
  • In France, the Fos Cavaou LNG terminal will have no shipments from 9 Sept until 2 Oct. The Dunkirk gas terminal will have reduced capacity util 9 September of 47mcm/d.
