Denmark's largest natural gas field Tyra is on track to start production between 21 and 31 March according to note from operator TotalEnergies.
- “The project progress to date indicates, subject to the remaining level of operational uncertainty, that arrival of first gas flowing through the Tyra hub to the Danish market will most likely occur between 21-31 March 2024”, it said.
- The field was temporarily shut for redevelopment in 2019 after the seabed had sunk several metres under its platforms. Production of 2.8bcm of gas per year is expected, TotalEnergies said.
- The restart would make Denmark self-sufficient and a net exporter of natural gas.
