Bahrain has announced two natural gas discoveries in the Al-Joubah and Al-Jawf reservoirs, according to the state news agency BNA.

• In 2018, Bahrain announced the discovery of the Khaleej al-Bahrain field, which is its largest oil and gas find since 1932 and is estimated to contain at least 80 billion barrels of shale oil.
• Bahrain’s Sitra refinery with 267,000 b/d of capacity is currently undergoing a large-scale modernisation and is scheduled to be operational by 2023.
