US TSYS/SUPPLY: Preview 3Y Note Auction: WI at June 2024 High

Tsy futures drifting in mildly negative territory (TUZ6 102-17.5 (-.5), TYZ6 107-13.5 last (-1.5)) ahead of the $58B 3Y note auction (91282CRL7) at 1300ET. WI is currently at 4.472% - highest since June 2024 and 18.1bp cheap to last month's stop. Results will be available shortly after the competitive auctions closes at 1300ET.
- August 3Y Note auction review: Treasury futures gained slightly (TUU6 at 102-30.25, TYU6 at 108-15.5) after the $58B 3Y note auction (91282CRG8) stopped through for the second time running: 4.291% high yield vs. 4.295% WI; 2.71x bid-to-cover over the 5-auction average of 2.618x.
- Peripheral stats: Indirect take-up below the 5-auction avg of 65.75% to 64.24% vs. 67.50% prior; direct bidder take-up 24.20% from 24.75% prior (19.70% 5-auction avg); primary dealer take-up rises to 11.74% vs. 7.74% prior - still below a 5-auction average of 14.54%.
