BRENT TECHS: (Q6) Bear Cycle Intact

Jun-24 06:18
  • RES 4: $110-00 Round number resistance
  • RES 3: $108.34 - High May 5 and a bull trigger
  • RES 2: $98.99 - High Jun 3 and a key short-term resistance
  • RES 1: $86.80/90.10 - 20- and 50-day EMA values
  • PRICE: $76.97 @ 07:07 BST Jun 24
  • SUP 1: $75.94 - 2.00 proj of the May 4 - 7 - 18 price swing
  • SUP 2: $70.00 - Round number support
  • SUP 3: $67.92 - 2.50 proj of the May 4 - 7 - 18 price swing
  • SUP 4: $64.98 - Low Feb 17

A bear cycle in Brent futures remains intact and the contract is trading at its latest lows. Recent weakness resulted in a breach of an important support at $81.45, the Apr 17 low. The break strengthens the bear cycle and sights are on $75.94, a Fibonacci projection. Clearance of this level would open the $70.00 handle. Key short-term resistance has been defined at $98.99, the Jun 3 high. A break of it would be a bullish development.

EURJPY TECHS: Retracement Mode

Jun-24 06:13
  • RES 4: 187.95 High Apr 17 and the bull trigger
  • RES 3: 187.56 High Apr 30
  • RES 2: 186.56 76.4% retracement of the Apr 17 - May 6 bear leg
  • RES 1: 185.40/186.32 Monday’s high / High Jun 16 and 17
  • PRICE: 183.84 @ 07:13 BST Jun 24
  • SUP 1: 183.50 Low May 07
  • SUP 2: 182.05 Low May 06 and a bear trigger
  • SUP 3: 181.87 Low Mar 16
  • SUP 4: 180.81 Low Feb 12 and a key M/T support

EURJPY has traded lower this week resulting in a breach of support at 184.01, the Jun 8 low. A clear break of this level would signal scope for a deeper retracement with sights on 183.50 initially, the May 07 low. Initial resistance to watch is 185.40, Monday’s high. A reversal higher and a break of this level would reinstate the recent bullish theme and refocus attention on key short-term resistance at 186.32, the Jun 16 and 17 high.
