US: Trump To Address South Carolina Tele-Rally Shortly

US President Donald Trump is shortly due to address a tele-rally in support of South Carolina Senator Lindsay Graham (R-SC), who is running for re-election, and Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette (R-SC), who is running for governor. LINK The event comes ahead of South Carolina primaries tomorrow, which will test the strength of Trump's endorsements after a high-profile setback in the Iowa governor's race.
- The New York Times reports that Trump endorsement of Evette, "in the first wide-open governor’s race in almost two decades has not yet proved decisive — just as it did not prove decisive in Iowa’s primary for governor [when] Trump’s pick lost to a political newcomer."
- According to Polymarket, Evette is now clear favourite, following Trump's endorsement.
- The tele-rally is the only event on Trump's official schedule today that could see the president address major news today related to the conflict in the Middle East.
- Following the rally, Trump will attend the NBA finals at Maddison Square Gardens in New York City before returning to the White House.
