US STOCKS: Late Equities Roundup: Remain Weaker

  • US equity indexes remain weaker late Monday, off lows - but maybe not for long  as crude prices rebound on late Iran headlines and reports of explosions on Kharg Island. WTI Crude prices rallied earlier amid further Houthi attacks on Saudi infrastructure Tuesday and with US-Iran tensions elevated. Currently, the DJIA trades -1.18%, SPX emini -0.44%, Nasdaq -0.2%.
  • Health Care and Financial sector shares underperformed with Amgen and Stryker Corp trading -9.5%-8.0%, while Zimmer Biomet Holdings, Intuitive Surgical and Insulet Corp retreated 5.5-4.0%.
  • Insurance and services stocks weighed on the Financials sector: Fidelity National Information -5.2% while the following declined -4.5-3.5%: FactSet Research Systems Inc, Brown & Brown Inc, Fiserv Inc, Arthur J Gallagher & Co and MSCI Inc.
  • Not unexpectedly, oil and gas stocks led advances with Texas Pacific Land Corp, Valero Energy Corp, Marathon Petroleum Corp and Phillips 66 trading +1.9-4.8% higher on the back of this morning's crude bounce.
